This is about difference. This is about learning to accept that difference. This is about not tolerating hate.
I didn't know any of the people that inspired me to start this website. I didn't know any of their families. But I was moved by their stories. Sickened by the fact that hate crimes of this nature can still go on in this day and age. If humans are supposed to be the smartest species on earth, why haven't we yet learnt that hate solves nothing?
All I want to do is give tribute to those who have lost their lives because of a hatred they did not create, nor encourage. To show the world that there are people who will not stand for this sort of thing. I have been the victim of hatred many a time myself, and I know that it has not done anything except make me more determined to fight it. Not with baseball bats or knives, but with words. With peace.

James Byrd Jr. - 7th June 1998 - murdered for being black
Matthew Shepard - 12th October 1998 - murdered for being gay
Murdered for being different.
